Tumor Board

At John Muir Health, your managing physician has access to a multi-disciplinary cancer case conference (tumor board) where a team of medical experts review complex cases and make treatment recommendations.

Getting the Most Expert Advice

Having a tumor board is unique for a community hospital like John Muir Health as a panel like this is usually found only at university medical centers.

Typically, the tumor board consists of a physician who specializes in the treatment of your condition, a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, radiologist, and a pathologist. Depending on the type of cancer you have, other medical experts may be brought in for consultation.
